During this two day course, you will learn advanced manual therapy techniques and approaches for the treatment and management of Concussions & Post Concussion Symptoms.

Learn:● An evidence-based and patient-centric approach to working with this patient demographic● Anatomy, pathophysiology, neurometabolic changes and systemic contributors to concussions● Identify symptom clusters, red flags, and risk factors for persistent post concussion symptoms (PPCS)● Advanced assessment techniques for cervical, TMJ, thoracic, autonomic, vestibular and oculomotor contributors● How to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary care teams for concussion management● Support graded return to activity (sport/school/work)
Understand:● The neurobiology and etiology of a concussion● The definitions of Concussion/mTBI● The systems that are impacted and their symptom presentations● Recovery timeframes● Categorizing acute concussions versus PPCS● The role of RMTs in the concussion rehabilitation space
Become:● Confident and efficient with performing assessments and techniques to help with concussion rehabilitation● Skilled in identifying red flags, differentiating symptom profiles, and recognizing when referral or collaborative care is required.● Capable of creating individualized, evidence-informed treatment plans that incorporate pacing principles, symptom modulation, and graded progression.
