UNDERSTANDING, ASSESSING, TREATING & MANAGING TMD/TMJD

Designed for optimal learning; this course offers online learning (6hrs) as well as 2 days of in-person instruction (14hrs)

Participants will receive:

  • evidence-informed and patient-centric learning
  • coaching during the course on landmarking, variations of pressure, ergonomics, AND receive a demonstration on intra-oral palpation and techniques from the instructor(s)
  • a focus on hands-on learning and exchange with various participants
  • guidance on developing therapeutic analytical skills pertaining to TMD/TMJD
  • advanced manual therapy techniques and approaches for the assessment, treatment and management for symptoms and dysfunctions related to TMD/TMJD
  • a free post-course group follow-up over Zoom to answer questions that might have been missed during the course, as well as an opportunity review the material


LEARN

* an evidence-based and patient-centric approach to working with this patient demographic

* anatomy, pathology and advanced manual therapy techniques including massage, mobilizations, passive stretching and strengthening

* how to assess the temporomandibular region

* how to build a treatment and self-care plan

UNDERSTAND

* how TMD can lead to symptoms such as: headaches, malocclusion, popping, clicking, localized TMJ pain, decreased mandibular ROM, tinnitus, and more

* contra-indications to treatments and how to adapt your approach accordingly

* confident and efficient with performing intra-oral treatments

*intra-oral, extra-oral and upper cervical techniques learned at this course to assist your patients with their TMJ dysfunctions and symptoms with confidence
